Christmas Presence Light

7:00-9:00pm, December 13, 2020

Join Fr. Dean and friends for our annual celebration on Gaudete Sunday.

This year's event will be posted on St. Aidan's YouTube Channel at 7:00 p.m., Sunday December 13 and will remain there afterwards.

We are expecting stories, songs, and poems from various people from our parish and beyond. You won't want to miss this bright spot in Advent.

Prepare to participate in the celebration - food, beverages, candles, laughter and maybe even a few tears are all in order.

Here's a mulled wine recipe from Fr. Dean's friend Gisela Kreglinger whose family owns a German winery and who wrote The Soul of Wine: Savoring the Goodness of God. I.e., she knows what she's talking about!

1 bottle of decent red wine (Merlot, Cab)
1/4-3/4 cup of brown sugar, depending how sweet you like it
1 lemon - freshly squeezed
4 oranges - freshly squeezed, peels of 2 oranges
2 cinnamon sticks
6-8 cloves pricked on 1/2 orange to float on wine with cloves facing down

DO NOT bring to a boil - let simmer for 1 hour
To add extra flavour, carmelize the sugar in the pot first before adding other ingredients.

We acknowledge that Jesus, the Lord of all, has called His Church to be a Church of all nations. With joy and in humility we gather on Treaty 4 Territory, the traditional lands of the Cree, Ojibwe, Saulteaux, Dakota, Lakota, Nakoda, and the homeland of the Métis Nation.
